Monday, 4 January, 2010 TC Interconnect Holdings Limited TC (SEHK: 0515) Announces Signing Agreement with the Management Committee of the South West Airport Economic Development Zone Targeting 30,000 Urban LED Lamps in 2 years (Hong Kong, 4 January 2010) ── TC Interconnect Holdings Limited (SEHK Code: 0515) (“TC”/ the “Group”) today announces it signed an agreement with the Management Committee of the South West Airport Economic Development Zone in Shuangliu County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province on 30 December 2009. The Management Committee of the South West Airport Economic Development Zone pledged to recommend using TC LED products, which include on green roads, tunnels, subways, and LED lamp demo road in Shuangliu County. The committee also gives priority to procure TC LED-related products. TC expects to secure not less than 30,000 urban LED lamps in 2 years. Chengdu aggressively promotes the use of LED road lamps. According to the information provided by the Chengdu government, with consideration of the current development pace and trend, it is estimated that the semiconductor lighting market will reach RMB100 billion in 2010 and RMB150 billion in 2015. Mr. Paul Yeung, Chairman of TC said, “The high consumption of energy globally prioritizes the LED lighting technology to become a national issue. The Group is pleased to execute its LED business as planned. Kicking off the urban LED lamp market in Chengdu enhances our confidence to tap the high potential LED market as well. The Group plans to establish footholds in different regions in order to explore markets nearby.” The Chinese government undertook to replace the existing 48 million road lamps with LED. The policy can save energy of 40%. In 2009, the Ministry of Science and Technology introduced two LED lighting programmes, i.e. “Ten Thousand LED lights in Ten Cities” and “Thousand Miles Ten Thousand”, which are actively participated by 21 pilot cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Yangzhou, Wuhan, Heilongjiang, Heibei. In March 2009, the programme of “Ten Thousand LED lights in Ten Cities”was launched.
